The retrospective account of the “Journey through the Hinterland” starts with the razzia of Rotterdam in 1944 and takes us far afield from the surroundings of the Rotterdam harbors, from the period of ‘Wederopbouw’ (reconstruction) to the development of the European Union and the world thereafter.
